Oops, October is almost over already, and I still haven’t gotten around to writing a roundup of the zines that were added to the collection in September. There actually aren’t that many, but see for yourself:

Two mini-zines by Andreas have „moved into“ the HZL collection. One deals with the consequences and risks of using AI in teaching, while the other provides information about shadow libraries and outlines some of the reasons why they exist.
„Computerkätzchen“ explains the basics of the digital world in easy-to-understand language, helping everyone feel safe and informed. The first three issues, „My Data in the Cloud“, „Email“ and „Who Shows Me Websites?“, are available as printed booklets in the HZL collection. You can find the issues at https://computerkaetzchen.de.

Jonas Weir’s „A 13 Point Plan to Stick It to the Man“ is the zine I was supposed to receive as part of my Zine-A-Month subscription back in July, but it finally showed up a little late. In it, Jonas writes about the things that help him feel less helpless and powerless in these times and take action, even when withdrawing from it all or giving up seem like tempting alternatives.
„Etched in Sand #1“ by q.q is also part of my Zine-A-Month subscription, this time the September issue. In it, q.q takes a closer look at what actually happens when software runs on a computer, unpacking the different layers involved to show how, despite appearances, it’s the hardware that does the actual work.
